Centuries ago in a village in Europe, a nobleman decided to build a church as his legacy to the town where he lived. Over the next several years, a beautiful cathedral was constructed. But during the building process, none of the villagers were permitted inside the church. Finally, the day of dedication arrived, and the people were ushered inside for the celebration. As they walked around, they marveled at the beauty. After a time, though, someone commented that it seemed dark inside. That led another to note that there wasn’t a single lamp in sight.
