In May, I officiated at 2 weddings. In both cases, the couple was engaged for over a year. That gave them plenty of time to plan. But what they didn’t plan on when they set their date was how they would have to deal with a pandemic that would shut down the entire world 2 months before their wedding date. Both couples took the stay at home restrictions in stride, however.
Both couples understood that their wedding date was still a way off. Both couples understood that this meant that there was still plenty of time for the situation to change. And both couples understood that it was still possible to see the restrictions lifted in time for their plans to be realized. So they waited. And waited. And waited some more.
